Our ground root bark is darker in color than most of our competitors’ because we remove the fibers (which are light and light in color) during the grinding process, resulting in a more concentrated inner root bark end product.
We use an industrial hammer mill in the United States to grind the mimosa root bark pieces into a powder. While we control the particle size, we opted for a 5 mm sieve, which provides an optimal balance appreciated by most of our customers. This results in finely ground root bark, composed of approximately 30% powder and 70% fiber .
About our Mimosa Hostilis Inner Root Bark (MHRB)
Our Mimosa Hostilis root bark (MHRB) is composed exclusively of the inner root bark; no other part of the tree is used in its composition. We control the entire production process and therefore have complete control over the quality of our inner root bark.
Before grinding the Mimosa Hostilis, we carefully remove all the outer bark from the root, leaving only the deep purple inner layer. This allows us to know precisely what goes into the grinder and what comes out. The grinding process takes place in two stages: first, a coarse grinding to remove unwanted fibers, followed by a very fine grinding that transforms the Mimosa Hostilis into a fine powder. Throughout the entire process, we control the temperature to prevent the bark from overheating. This is essential to preserve its beautiful, vibrant colors!
We offer our mimosa hostilis root bark not only in grated form, but also in powder and whole bark pieces.
When you buy your bark from us, you can choose its country of origin. You have the choice between Brazilian and Mexican bark. Both are of excellent quality and equally good. Brazilian bark is generally a little darker, but it may also contain slightly more vegetable fats than Mexican bark.
